On Tuesday, 8th graders practiced using Punnett Squares in their genetics unit to create monsters and predict the traits of monster offspring. All while listening to DJ Siskow’s awesome Halloween Playlist!




It might be raining and dreary outside, but GCMS teachers are still having a good day! Mr. Schram, Mr. Dostal, and Mr. Jones were all smiles this morning greeting students.

On Monday, ASL Club had a blast learning some Halloween themed signs. Students learned new signs and then applied it to a Halloween themed Signed Bingo. We had several brave volunteers who helped call/sign each Bingo. A special thanks to Stacy Luther, for volunteering and setting up our Halloween activity.

8th grade sightings around the building today. Students in Ms. Spoor's English class listened to Halloween music while working on spooky writings with their partners and students in Ms. Storey's Reading class came to the library for a variety of activities including new book previews, a scavenger hunt, and a bookmark station.





Good luck to the GCMS boys' basketball teams as they kick off their seasons tonight!

6th grade science students participated in the Stanley Cup Challenge! They had to design a cup that would slow the process of ice in a cup melting.





Yearbook students spent some time creating event calendars for their quarterly picture-taking.


Students participated in a variety of clubs this week at GCMS! Some of the recent clubs were Quiz Bowl, Photography Club, Makerspace Club, and Chess Club.

8th-grade HAL students had the opportunity to visit with Mrs. Nizzi to learn more about HAL programming at the high school level. Mrs. Nizzi is the HAL facilitator at both GEHS and GHS.

Q1 Cupcake Wars! Winners were chosen from student and staff votes. Congrats girls!

Mr. Bougger's 7th grade reading students have the opportunity to participate in a "horror/suspense" Accelerated Reader book challenge. The challenge is designed to get students to read a genre they may be unfamiliar with and potentially earn a small reward!



Congrats to the One Act performers on an excellent show last night!








Don't forget to stop in the library during Parent/Teacher conferences to check out the book fair! Teachers have created wishlists and students finished up previews yesterday. We are on the second floor, at the top of the main staircase.

Giles Creek had quite a few club offerings on Monday night! Kids were able to choose from ASL Sign Language Club, Breakout Club, Art Club, D&D Club, and eSports.





The 8th grade sewing students participated in a MONSTER project with some Whitetail kindergarten students. So much fun and such a creative project for our kids.

7th grade students participated in team building activities on Wednesday during AEP time. The Hula Hoop Challenge was a success!
